    2014 Updates

    • December 13, 2014

It’s been a busy six months for Jim Sweeney as he has seen himself work on a number of film and TV projects over the past six months.  The Summer started rolling when he reunited with Director John McPhail on his feature film debut “Where do we go from here?”  Jim has collaborated with John on two of his short films “Notes” and “V for Visa” which have won numerous awards and cherished the opportunity to work with John again.

As we previously mentioned Jim was cast in the period scottish film “The Fairy Flag”, which got filming during the summer.  The film is still in post-production, but is aiming for a release in the Spring of 2015.  The film was produced by Zoghogg Entertainment Ltd. a company which Jim has gone on to work with on another two productions: “Plan Z” and “The Arrival of Harvey Di Maria”.  Plan Z is a Zombie short film in which Jim supplies a voiceover; and The Arrival of Harvey Di Maria is a gangster drama set in Prohibition era America made by the director of The Fairy Flag.

If you managed to catch the comedy sketch show “How do I Get Up There?” You would have seen Jim as a wounded traveller in the recurring Robin-Hood-esque sketch.  The show played on the BBC at the end of October as a one off pilot.  It is not known yet if this show is to be commissioned for a longer run.

Jim is looking forward to the New Year where he has been cast in a Horror Feature film being produced by an american company.  At this time this is all the information we have as we are unable to say more about the project for the time being..  2015 will also see the release of the Episode Jim did on Outlander, which their first season has been split into two parts.  Jim will appear in Episode 10 of the show, which is due to air on Starz on the 11th of April.  As of the writing of this article there is still no word on where Outlander will show in the UK.  Also filmed this year was Terence Davies Sunset Song.  Nothing official as to when the film will be released, but having been filmed in the Summer of 2014, there is a good chance will see it sometime next year.
