Jim Sweeney
Outlander Aired
Jim’s episode in the American-scots science fiction/historical epic Outlander aired on Starz and Amazon Prime over the weekend. If you had tuned in to the episode you might not have recognised Jim as he was sporting a long grey haired wig that was reminiscent of Sean Connery’s long hair in The Rock and he was missing his trademark thick dark moustache that gives Jim his iconic memorable look.
The episode titled By The Pricking of My Thumbs was directed by regular TV director Richard Clark who has worked on the likes of Dr Who and Silent Witness. Written by Ira Steven Behr who is known for his extensive career on the Star Trek Franchise, the episode sees the lead character Jamie Fraser hope to have a price taken off his head by the Duke of Sandringham played by Simon Callow. However, the duke of Sandringham is locked into a feud with the MacDonald clan. The Patriarch of the clan, Andrew MacDonald who is played by Jim has to face off in a duel with the Duke of Sandringham over an unpaid debt. It is a tense scene between the two characters who face off in a pistols at dawn shootout. The scene will soon be available to see in Jim’s new show reel, expected a little later in the year.
For UK viewers Outlander is available to watch on Amazon Prime Instant streaming service. By the Pricking of My Thumbs is episode 10 of 16.
